ArSonKuPik technical resource

Measure the signal path before turning a listening preference into a technical claim.

A useful measurement page must explain the source, route, level, sample rate, capture method and uncertainty. This page defines that protocol without fabricating results that have not been reproduced.

Stage 1

Establish the reference

  • Capture a loopback or digital reference before inserting the processor.
  • Record sample rate, bit depth, interface gain and operating-system enhancements.
  • Keep the same file and route for every comparison.
Stage 2

Separate tone from loudness

  • Use normal mode to judge intended impact.
  • Use Gain Match for level-equal tonal comparison.
  • Report both states instead of treating one as the only valid answer.
Stage 3

Check safety and stability

  • Measure true peak and sample peak at the output.
  • Repeat at supported sample rates and practical buffer sizes.
  • Look for clipping, denormals, dropouts or unstable gain movement.
Interpretation

State what the test cannot prove

  • A frequency plot does not fully describe perceived depth or transient behaviour.
  • One song or one interface cannot establish universal performance.
  • A result should include the preset, control values and software version.
